Ranjan will apologise to court – Attorney
Actor-Politico State Minister Ranjan Ramanayake intends to apologise to the court, his attorney said when the Supreme Court (SC) today served a charge sheet on him yesterday July 30 over the allegations of contempt of court.
He was alleged to have made a statement end of last year during the time when the Supreme Court was hearing the parliament dissolution case.
The bench comprising Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya, Justice L. T. D. Dehideniya and Justice Murdhu Fernando postponed the matter to December 2nd.
Faiz Musthapa PC appearing for Ramanayake informed the court that his client is expecting to apologise to the court as he had not made the statement wilfully to dishonour the judiciary.
