Special fund for children affected by Easter Attacks
The Government has established a special fund for children who were left disabled or orphaned in the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.
The Government has donated Rs. 100 million to a fund of Rs. 500 million. The remaining Rs. 400 million was donated by other parties, the Prime Minister’s office said yesterday (03) in a statement.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will present the Cabinet paper pertaining to the matter at the Cabinet meeting today (04).
Meanwhile, the PM’s Office said that casualties of the Easter attacks have been confirmed as 261 and measures have been taken to provide compensation for 174 victims and their families thus far.
