Sri Lanka airport clarifies Brandix special charter flight passengers origin
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Airport & Aviation Services claimed today that a chartered flight organised by Brandix carried 48 workers of Sri Lankan origin from India following all health guideline protocols and were sent to quarantine immediately.
The flight UL 1160 had arrived at Mattala airport on 22 September, a spokesman said.
“We would like to reiterate that all passengers of the subjected flight carrying 48 passengers were of Sri Lankan origin and none were of Indian origin,” Shehan Sumanasekara, Director-Operations of MRIA said.
“Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) would like to confirm that that all passengers on the flight UL 1160 which arrived on 22 September at MRIA was facilitated following all health authority guidelines and all passengers were sent to Kosgoda Sheraton hotel under the purview of the Sri Lankan forces,” he added.
