ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Board of Investment said 2.0 billion US dollars worth investments in 128 projects had been approved up to November 2021, up from 1.1 billion US dollars in full year 2020.
Out of that the foreign investment component was 1.6 billion US dollars.
BOI companies had invested a total of 760 million US dollars in the first half of which 400 million US dollars was foreign direct investments.
BOI firms accounted for 65 percent of Sri Lanka’s exports and 85 percent of industrial exports, the agency said. (Colombo/Dec07/2021)
