Sri Lanka bans private pharmacies selling drugs during Coronavirus curfew
ECONOMYNEXT – Supermarkets and private pharmacies in Sri Lanka which were selling goods on their premises during a Coronavirus curfew have been been ordered to close by police.
Acting Police Chief C D Wickremeratne has ordered all supermarket and pharmacies closed except state pharmacies saying they were only allowed to deliver to customers and they cannot sell from their premises.
However there are very few state pharmacies. It is not clear why state pharmacies are allowed.
Sri Lanka has slapped indefinite curfews in Colombo, Kalutara and Gampaha saying they were high risk areas for Coronavirus spread.
