Sri Lanka coconut auction prices ease for first time since August
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka raw coconut prices fall 4.9 percent to 46,939 rupees for 1000 nuts at a auction on the first week of February down from 49,382 on January 30, after prices rose 114 percent from September, official data show.
The top price at the weekly auction went down to 56,100 rupees for 1,000 nuts from 56,500 rupees from a week earlier.
The lowest price was 40,000 rupees, down from 41,000 rupees a week earlier.
Sellers offered 996,490 nuts for the auction and 701,222 were sold. (Colombo/Feb12/2020)
