Sri Lanka expat workers, private sector professionals, to get tax free cars, hybrid permits: UPFA Manifesto

ECONOMYNEXT – Professional including accountants, doctors, lawyers, architects, surveys who are in private employment will get ‘car permits’ to import hybrids, while an unpopular new tax will be removed if they are returned to power, the United Peoples’ Freedom Alliance has said.

In Sri Lanka private citizens are treated like old-fashioned serfs in a feudal society and the elected ruling class usually give all benefits to the state workers, which are ultimately extracted from private workers.

But manifesto has extended the benefits from state sector elites to private sector elites.

But the manifesto also said it will a new tax on hybrid cars imposed by the new administration which will benefit all without discrimination.

Tax free cars were also promised to three wheeler drivers.
