Sri Lanka expects to appoint new chief to headless SEC

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka expects to announce a new Chairman to the Securities and Exchange Commission shortly, Treasury Secretary R H S Samaratunga said.
"There are some approvals pending," Samaratunga told reporters.
Ranel Wijesinha, a senior accountant who has international experience in consulting and financial advisory, who was previously a commission member is widely expected to be made Chairman.
The term of the last chairman ended in January and the SEC secretariat has been operating without a chairman. (Colombo/May11/2018)
