ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka has to prepare for post a Covid-19 era, where the way the global economy works would change, Nivard Cabraal, Senior Advisor to the finance minister said.
“The Sri Lankan economy would also have to be re-shaped and restructured to deal with the new global economic order and the challenges that would unfold,” Cabraal said.
He said a way forward strategy should be developed after broad consultations.
Most of Sri Lanka’s manufactured exports have come to a standstill with both supplies from East Asia and buyers from the West disappearing.
Sri Lanka is now under curfew, but up to now health authorities and intelligence units have been diligently chasing down contacts and daily growth in new cases have been in the low single digits.
