Sri Lanka hopes to finalize cabinet by end of the week: Rajitha
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka is expecting to re-shuffle the cabinet by the end of the week, Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne said, after the two main parities decided to go ahead with the coalition.
"We hope to finalize the re-shuffle by the end of the week," Senaratne told reporters.
Ministers Susil Premajayantha and Dayasiri Jayasekera from the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, did not participate in this week’s cabinet meeting, he said.
Jayasekera also did not join the weekly cabinet news briefing.
The United National Party of Ranil Wickremesinghe and President Maithripala Sirisena’s SLFP contested local councils separately suffering humiliating defeat against a proxy party promoted by ex-President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
But Seneratne said the two parties together had got more than Rajapaksa party. (Colombo/Feb21/2018)
