Sri Lanka identifies high-risk areas for COVID-19 transmission
ECONOMYNEXT – The epidemiology unit of Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Health issued details of high-risk areas for COVID-19 transmission in the country after analysing the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda clusters, with the sub clusters emerging in the country in the past weeks.

The National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 (NOCPOC) issuing a statement said the Peliyagoda cluster has increased to 1,545.
NOCPOC said yesterday 20 patients from Beruwal fishing harbour, five from Galle fishing harbour, 14 from Walachchinai fishing harbour, three from Devinuwara and 2 from Hambanthota has been identified.
Seven positive cases from DPL Premier Gloves Ltd, one from Ansen Lanka Pvt Ltd and one from Okaya Lanka pvt ltd in the Katunayake free trade zone have also been identified.
NOCPOC said five Sri Lanka Army rapid response rider teams have been dispatched to conduct random checking in Colombo and Gampaha districts. (Colombo/Oct26/2020)
