ECONOMYNEXT – Ajith Wattuhewa, a former President of Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) who was a champion of regional trade had passed away the chamber said.
During his tenure in 2014-2015) he had promoted trade and investment opportunities in the Indian sub-continent and Asia Pacific for Sri Lankan small and medium industry.
“He was fondly called as “Wathu” by his friends and was a compassionate human being who always believed in giving back to the society, the Chamber said.
His positive attitude and guidance, everything is worthy of our praise.”
Wattuhewa had set up the SAARC Trade promotion Network.( SAARC TPN) for trade issues.
He was founder president of Uva Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a former senior vice president of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry. (Colombo/May09/2021)
