Sri Lanka inflation at 3.3-pct in Feb 2021
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s inflation in the capital Colombo has picked up to 3.3 percent in February 2021 from 3.0 percent in January, the state statistics office said.
The widely watched Colombo Consumer Price Index gained 0.3 percent during the month to end at 139.1 points.
The index also gained 0.5 percent in January and 0.7 percent in November.
Sri Lanka’s private credit growth has been muted after a surge in March 2021 but picked up after September 2020.
Interventions in the forex markets had also picked up with large volumes of excess liquidity injected from money printing. (Colombo/Feb26/2021 – Corrected month Feb)
