Sri Lanka inflation slows to 0.1-pct in March 2015 – correction
COLOMBO (EconomyNext) – Sri Lanka’s consumer prices rose 0.1 percent in the 12-months to March 2015 slowing from 0.6 percent in February, the state statistics office said.
The Colombo Consumer Price Index dropped 0.4 percent in the month, on top of a 3.2 percent drop in February as taxes were cut and prices were lowered on fuel.
International commodity prices were also falling amid an underlying strengthening of the US dollar.
Sri Lanka’s policy interest rates were effectively raise in late February with gilt yields also going up.
