Sri Lanka logistics body elects more women leaders

COLOMBO (EconomyNext) – Sri Lanka’s Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport has elected six women members to its new council as part of efforts to promote gender diversity in the industry.

Two of three Vice Chairpersons of the institute, which represents transport and logistics professionals, are women, the CILT said in a statement.

"The key feature of the newly elected council is the presence of six women members for the CILT Council for 2015 for the first time," it said.

"CILT is actively promoting gender diversity in the industry through their women’s forum Women in Logistics and Transport. The inclusion of women in the Council, show their commitment towards this endeavour."
