Sri Lanka minister urges calm following explosions
ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka’s Economic Policy and Public Distribution Minister Harsha de Silva urged citizens to remain calm Sunday morning, after six explosions were reported across the island.
"I urge everyone to remain calm," he said.
He said Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was on his way to Colombo from Bentota.
"The National Security Council will be holding an emergency session," he said.
De Silva had visited a number of locations where explosions had taken place with the Secretary of Defence.
