Sri Lanka mulls helicopter rescue service
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka will study the feasibility of setting up an emergency rescue service with eight helicopters and high tech vehicles, with Bijorn Steiger Stiftung, a German non-profit organization.
The rescue service will also have 25 hi-tech emergency vehicles.
The cabinet has approved a proposal by Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne to set up a committee to negotiate and study the feasibility of the proposal
The cost of the project is expected to be met by a 190 million rupee concessional loan. (Colombo/May16/2018)
