Sri Lanka PM to meet investors in Davos
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will take part in the World Economic Forum that will be held in Davos-klosters, Switzerland this week where he will try to lure investments to the island.
This is the first time Sri Lanka has been invited to participate in the World Economic Forum, the annual meeting of top corporate and world leaders, a statement from Wickremesinghe’s office said.
“During his visit, the Prime Minister will be engaging with the international investor community towards possible investments in Sri Lanka.”
The Davos meeting, to be held from 20th to the 23rd January 2016, will see over 40 heads of state in attendance and will focus this year on new trends within the global economic sphere.
Wickremesinghe will be accompanied by the Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake, Minister of Development Strategies & International Trade Malik Samarawickrema, and Governor of the Central Bank Arjuna Mahendran. (Colombo/January 18, 2016)
