Sri Lanka PM’s advanced (external) security officer infected with Covid-19
ECONOMYNEXT – An member of Sri Lanka Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s advanced security detail had been infected with Coronavirus, his office said.
The officer is involved in advanced security work in connection with Prime Minister’s external engagements.
“..[N]o internal security member from the Prime Minister’s Office, Temple Trees or the Wijerama Residence has tested positive,” his office said.
The person had not reported to work since October 17.
Sri Lanka has seen a surge in Coronavirus cases in October and parts of the capital Colombo and Gampaha is under curfew.
Total cases have surged to 7,500 with clusters involving a factory and fish-market. (Colombo/Oct26/2020)
