Sri Lanka polls: Modi congratulates MR on widely anticipated landslide

ECONOMYNEXT – India Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called and congratulated his Sri Lanka counterpart Mahinda Rajapaksa for the ruling Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP)’s widely anticipated victory at yesterday’s parliamentary polls.
Thanking Modi for the call, Rajapaksa tweeted his intentions to work closely with India.
