Sri Lanka President urges calm, orders investigations into explosions
ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka’s President Maithripala Sirisena asked citizens to remain calm and not fall victim to rumours or fake news following a series of explosions across the island.
"I condemn what has taken place," he said.
"I have instructed the police Special Task Force, and the triforces to investigate," he said in Sinhala in a pre-recorded statement.
"They are working diligently, and I ask all citizens to support in the investigations."
He urged citizens to remain calm and not fall victim to rumours or fake news being shared.
