Sri Lanka president’s brother new chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom
EconomyNext – Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena’s brother, P. G. Kumarasingha, has been appointed the new chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom Group.
SLT Group comes under Minister of Foreign Affairs Mangala Samaraweera according to a government gazette on subjects under new ministries.
A statement said Kumarasingha, prior to his appointment, was Chief Executive/General Manager of the State Timber Corporation, and has over 30 years experience in the state and private sector.
He holds the post of Board Director of the Land Reclamation & Development Company Ltd., LRDC Services (Pvt) Ltd., and is also the Financial Consultant for the Araliya Group of Companies (Pvt) Ltd.
Kumarasingha holds a Master of Business Administration from Wayamba University of Sri Lanka, Master of Public Management from Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration, a post Graduate Diploma in Accountancy and Financial Management from University of Sri Jayawardanapura and a Diploma in Project Management from the University of Sri Jayawardanapura among other qualifications.
