Sri Lanka Prime Minister, Modi to discuss bi-lateral, regional links
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will discuss deepening the friendship with India and broadening regional links, in talks with Premier Narendra Modi.
Wickremesinghe is beginning a visit to New Delhi on his first state visit abroad after taking office as Prime Minister following general elections last month. He will also meet India’s Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj.
Talks will involve deepening links between India and Sri Lanka expanding peace and reconciliation in the region, a statement from the Prime Ministers office said.
Wickremesinghe will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera, Strategic Development and International Trade Minister Malik Samrawickrama.
Secretary to the Prime Minister Saman Ekanayake, Additional Secretary Saman Athaudahetti, Ambassador designate to New Delhi Asala Weerakone will be part of the delegation. (Colombo/Sept14/2015)
