Sri Lanka rupee closes flat, bond yields marginally up

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka rupee closed  flat at 184.45/55 to the US dollar in the spot market on Friday while yields marginally up in dull market trade, dealers said.

The rupee closed at 184.45/55 to the US dollar on Thursday.

In the secondary securities market, bond yields were marginally up in dull market trade, dealers said.

A 2-year bond maturing on 15.12.2022 closed at 5.62/68 per cent on Friday, up from 5.60/64 per cent at Thursday’s closing.

A bond maturing on 15.01.2023 closed at 5.67/75 per cent on Friday up from 5.60/70 at Thursday’s end.

A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 closed at 6.18/25 percent, up from 6.15/25 per cent at the previous day’s end.

A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 closed at 6.35/45 per cent on Friday, unchanged from the last closing.

A bond maturing on 01.02.2026 closed at 6.60/64 per cent, up from 6.58/62 percent on previous day’s end.

A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 closed at 6.90/95 percent, up from 6.85/95 per cent on Thursday’s end.

A bond maturing on 01.07.2028 closed at 7.08/18 per cent, down from 7.10/20 per cent, in the previous day’s closing. (Colombo/Nov06/2020)
