Sri Lanka rupee closes weaker at 200.50/200.90 to the one week US dollar

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s rupee closed weaker at 200.50/200.90 to the one week US dollar on Monday while gilt yields were flat on dull trade, dealers said.

The markets were closed on Good Friday.

The rupee last closed in the one-week forward market at 199.50/200 to the US dollar on Thursday.

In the secondary market bond yields are flat in dull trade, dealers said.

A bond maturing on 15.12.2022 closed at 5.85/95 per cent on Monday, down from 5.87/95 per cent from Thursday.

A bond maturing on 15.11.2023 closed at 6.32/38 per cent on Monday, up from 6.30/40 per cent.

A bond maturing on 01.12.2024 closed at 6.65/75 per cent on Monday, steady from 6.65/73 per cent.

A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 closed flat at 6.80/7/00 per cent on Monday from Thursday.

A bond maturing on 15.02.2026 closed at 7.05/20 per cent, steady from 7.05/25 per cent on Thursday.

A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 closed at 7.45/65 per cent on Monday, down from 7.50/65 per cent on Thursday.

A bond maturing on 01.05.2029 closed at 8.00/20 per cent on Monday, up from 7.90/8.20 per cent on Thursday.

A bond maturing on 15.05.2030 closed at 7.90/25 per cent, down from 8.00/40 per cent. (Colombo/April 05/2021)
