ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka’s rupee closed stronger at 181.20/30 to the US dollar on Thursday, while bond yields eased, brokers and dealers said.
Sri Lanka rupee closed 181.30/40 to the greenback on Wednesday.
In the secondary market, yields down in moderate trade, dealers said.
Liquidity in the overnight money market was 23.75 billion rupees, up from 22.97 billion rupees at yesterday’s close.
Central Bank injected 14.8 billion rupees at 7.56 percent in a term reverse repo auction maturing in 14-days.
A bond maturing on 15.12.2021 closed at 8.60/67 percent Thursday, easing from 8.63/70 percent at Wednesday’s close.
A bond maturing 15.07.2023 closed at 9.53/60 percent, falling from 9.55/60 percent on Wednesday.
A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 closed at 9.92/96 percent, down from 9.95/99 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.6.2027 closed at 10.18/25 percent, falling from 10.25/35 percent.
A 15-year bond maturing on 15.09.2034 closed at 10.60/67 percent, easing from 10.67/73 percent. (Colombo/24Oct/2019)
