Sri Lanka rupee ends firmer to the US dollar
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s rupee closed stronger at 193/194.25 to the US dollar in the spot market on Monday, while some bond yields were up, dealers said.
The rupee last closed in one-week forward market at 195/195.75 to the dollar on Friday.
In the secondary market bond yields were up in active market activity, dealers said.
A bond maturing on 15.12.2022 closed at 5.75/85 per cent on Friday, up from 5.65/75 per cent at Friday’s close.
A bond maturing on 01.10.2023 closed 6.00/15 per cent, unchanged from 6.00/15 per cent at the previous close.
A bond maturing on 01.12.2024 closed at 6.70/80 per cent, up from 6.55/65 per cent.
A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 closed at 6.80/95 per cent, up from 6.75/85 per cent.
A bond maturing on 15.01.2026 closed at 7.00/15 up from 7.00/07 per cent.
A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 closed at 7.20/40 per cent, up from 7.15/35 per cent.
A bond maturing on 15.05.2030 closed at 8.00/20 per cent, unchanged from Friday’s end. (Colombo/Feb22/2021)
