Sri Lanka rupee ends flat, gilt yields ease
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s rupee closed stable at 181.85/95 to the US dollar on Wednesday, while bond yields were eased, brokers and dealers said.
Sri Lanka rupee closed 181.85/182.00 to the greenback on Tuesday.
Liquidity in the overnight money market was 6.90 billion rupees, up from 3.86 billion rupees at the previous day’s close.
Central bank injected 19.40 billion rupees at 7.60 percent in an overnight reverse repo auction.
Secondary market yields eased in active trade, dealers said.
A bond maturing on 15.12.2021 closed at 8.62/68 percent on Wednesday, down from 8.65/70 percent at Tuesday’s close.
A bond maturing 15.07.2023 closed at 9.60/62 percent, falling from 9.62/68 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 closed at 9.95/95 percent, easing from 10.00/02 percent.
A 15-year bond maturing on 15.09.2034 closed at 10.65/70 percent, down from 10.67/70 percent.
