Sri Lanka rupee ends stronger, gilt yields stable
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s rupee closed firmer at 181.05/20 to the US dollar on Friday while bond yields remained unchanged, brokers and dealers said.
The rupee closed at 181.20/30 against the greenback on Friday.
In the overnight money market, liquidity was 15.59 billion rupees, down from 20.75 billion rupees at Thursday’s close.
In the secondary bond market, yields were flat in dull trade, dealers said.
A bond maturing on 15.12.2021 remained unchanged at 8.65/75 on Friday from Thursday’s close.
A bond maturing 15.07.2023 closed flat at 9.60/70 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 closed at 10.00/10.05 percent, steady from 10.00/10.07 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.10.2027 closed at 10.27/32 percent, stable from 10.27/30 percent.
A 15-year bond maturing on 15.09.2034 closed at 10.60/70 percent, steady from 10.60/68 percent. (Colombo/Nov01/2019)
