Sri Lanka rupee opens firmer, bonds flat
ECONOMYNET – Sri Lanka’s rupee was quoted firmer at 173.90/40 to the US dollar Friday up from 174.0/40 to the US dollar a day earlier, while bond were flat, dealer said amid a political crisis in the country.
The rupee appreciated sharply to 174 to the US dollar from 175.75 levels in intra-day trading.
In bond markets a three-year bond maturing on 15.10.2021 was quoted at 10.90/11.05 percent, around the same levels as a
day earlier, dealers said.
A five-year bond maturing on 15.07.2023 was quoted at 11.20/30 percent, around the same levels as the previous day’s closing of 11.25/30 percent.
