Sri Lanka rupee opens flat, bond yields marginally down

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka rupee opened at around 186.30/50 to the US dollar in the spot next market, Monday while yields were marginally down in dull market trade, dealers said.

The rupee closed at 186.30/60 to the US dollar on Friday in the spot next market.

Spot market quotes were not available at the rupee came under pressure in recent days.

In the secondary securities market, bond yields were marginally downin dull market trade, dealers said.

A 2-year bond maturing on 15.12.2022 was quoted at 5.70/75 per cent on Monday, steady from 5.70/77 per cent at Friday’s closing.

A bond maturing on 15.01.2023 was quoted at 5.75/78 per cent on Mondaysteady from 5.75/80 at Friday’s end.

A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 was quoted at 6.40/45 per cent onMonday from 6.42/48 at Fridayclosing.

A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 was quoted at 6.55/65 per cent on Monday, unchanged from the last closing.

A bond maturing on 01.02.2026 was quoted at 6.65/75 per cent, down from 6.70/78 percent at Friday’s end.

A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 was quoted at 7.10/15 per cent on MondaySteady from 7.10/20 at Friday’s end.





A bond maturing on 01.07.2028 was quoted at 7.20/40 per cent, down from 7.25/35 at Friday’s closing.

A 10-year bond maturing on 15.05.2030 was quoted at 7.55/70 percent on Monday down from 7.60/80 at Friday’s closing. (Colombo/December07/2020)
