Sri Lanka rupee opens flat, bond yields stable
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka rupee was quoted flat at 184.40/60 against the US dollar on Wednesday while bond yields remained unchanged, dealers said.
The rupee ended at 184.40/45 rupees against the greenback on Tuesday.
In the secondary government securities markets, bond yields were flat, dealers said.
Sri Lanka’s debt office is offering 40 billion rupees of treasury bills to be sold at a weekly auction today.
A 2-year bond maturing on 15.12.2022 was quoted at 5.50/56 per cent on Wednesday, stable from 5.50/55 per cent from Tuesday’s closing.
A bond maturing on 15.01.2023 was quoted at 5.52/58 per cent, up from 5.50/60 per cent at its last close.
A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 was quoted at 6.00/10 per cent on Wednesday, down from 6.02/10 per cent at previous day’s closing.
A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 was quoted at 6.35/45 per cent, unchanged from 6.35/45 the previous day’s closing.
A bond maturing on 01.02.2026 was quoted at 6.55/62 per cent, flat from 6.55/60 per cent at its previous close on Tuesday.
A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 was quoted at 6.87/95 per cent on Wednesday, up from 6.83/95 per cent at previous day’s closing.
The new bond maturing on 01.07.2028 was quoted at 7.05/12 per cent on Wednesday, up from 7.00/10 per cent at Tuesday’s closing.
A 10-year bond maturing on 15.05.2030 was quoted at 7.35/40 per cent, unchanged from the previous day’s closing. (Colombo/ Sep16/2020)
