Sri Lanka rupee opens steady, gilt yields flat
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka rupee was quoted at 185.75/83 to US dollar in the spot market on Monday while bond yields were flat, dealers said.
Rupee closed at 185.75/85 to the greenback on Thursday.
In the secondary government securities market, gilt yields were flat in very dull market trade mid-morning, dealers said.
In the secondary market, gilt yields recorded mixed activity in moderate trade, dealers said.
A 2-year bond maturing on 15.12.2022 was quoted at 5.55/60 percent on Monday, up from 5.55/62 percent at Friday’s close.
A bond maturing on 15.01.2023 was quoted at 5.58/65 percent unchanged from 5.58/65 percent at Friday’s close.
A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 was quoted at 6.17/22 percent unchanged from Friday’s closing at 6.17/23 percent.
A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 was quoted at 6.45/48 percent on Monday, edging up from 6.38/45 percent at last week’s closing.
A bond maturing on 01.02.2026 was quoted flat at 6.55/60 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.10.2027 was quoted at 6.70/80 percent, flat from Friday’s end.
A 10-year bond maturing on 15.05.2030 was quoted at 7.05/15 percent, unchanged from 7.05.10 percent on Friday’s closing. (Colombo/July27/2020)
