Sri Lanka rupee opens weaker at 196.00/196.40 to dollar in spot-next
ECONOMYNEXT –Sri Lanka rupee was quoted weaker around 196.00/196.40 levels to the US dollar in the spot-next market on Thursday, while bond yields were quoted wider, dealers said.
The rupee last closed in the spot-next market at 195.00/198.00 levels on Wednesday.
In the secondary market bond yields edged up in moderate market activity, dealers said.
A bond maturing on 15.12.2022 was quoted at 5.85/90 per cent on Thursday, up from 5.80/90 per cent at Wednesday’s close.
A bond maturing on 01.10.2023 was quoted at 6.05/25 per cent on Thursday, wider from 6.05/15 per cent at the previous day’s close.
A bond maturing on 01.12.2024 was quoted at 6.7/85 per cent, steady from 6.75/82 per cent at the previous day’s end.
A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 was quoted at 7.05/15 per cent Thursday, up from 6.95/7.10 per cent.
A bond maturing on 15.01.2026 quoted flat at 7.15/25 per cent on Thursday.
A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 was quoted at 7.35/65 per cent, down from 7.40/60 per cent at Wednesday’s end.
A bond maturing on 15.05.2030 was quoted at 8.20/35 per cent on Thursday, up from 8.05/25 per cent at Wednesday’s end. (Colombo/Feb18/2021)
