Sri Lanka rupee opens weaker, bonds up
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka rupee was quoted weaker around 191.25/75 to the US dollar in the spot next market on Monday, while bond yields were marginally up, dealers said.
On Friday, the rupee closed around 191.00/192.50 to the US dollars in the spot next market.
In bond markets, yields were marginally up in dull trade, dealers said.
A 2-year bond maturing on 15.12.2022 was quoted at 5.50/55 per cent, down from 5.52/55 per cent on Friday.
A bond maturing on 15.01.2023 was quoted at 5.52/57 per cent on Monday, steady from 5.53/57 percent on last closing.
A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 was quoted at 6.30/35 flat from 6.30/35 per cent.
A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 was quoted at 6.45/55 per cent on Monday, down from 6.50/55 per cent.
A bond maturing on 01.02.2026 was quoted at 6.68/69 steady from 6.63/70 from the last closing.
A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 was quoted at 7.10/20 per cent up from 7.07/17 per cent.
A bond maturing on 01.07.2028 was quoted at 7.30/45 up from 7.15/30 per cent from.
A 10-year bond maturing on 15.05.2030 was quoted at 7.75/90 up from 7.60/80 per cent Friday. (Colombo/Jan11/2021)
