ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka’s rupee was quoted at 181.45/50 to the US dollar on Monday in the first half-hour of trading, while bond yields were flat and stocks opened 0.04 percent higher, dealers said.
Sri Lanka rupee closed at 181.30/45 to the greenback on Friday.
In equities, Colombo’s All Share Price Index gained 2.55 points to 5,937.81 and the S&P SL20 of more liquid stocks up 0.08 percent or 2.42 points to 2,937.73, in the first-half hour of trade.
The market turnover was 53 million rupees with 38 stocks gainings and 17 falling.
Dialog Axiata gained 20 cents to 12.30 rupees a share, Browns Investment up 10 cents to 4.40 rupees a share and Aitken Spence gained 70 cents to 45.70 rupees a share, contributing to ASPI’s gain.
In the secondary market, yields were stable in somewhat dull trade, dealers said.
A bond maturing on 15.12.2021 was quoted flat at 8.62/68 percent on Monday.
A bond maturing 15.07.2023 was quoted at 9.55/60 percent on Monday, down from 9.57/60 percent on Friday.
A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 was quoted at 9.94/96 percent up from 9.92/95 percent on Friday.
A bond maturing on 15.06.2027 was quoted flat at 10.20/25 percent on Monday.
A 15-year bond maturing on 15.09.2034 was quoted at 10.60/70 percent down from 10.62/68 percent. (Colombo/28Oct/2019)
