ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s rupee was quoted at 202/205 to the one month dollar in mid morning trade Thursday after opening around 200/203, while bond markets were also quiet, dealers said.
Many dealers and market participants were still on holiday following the traditional New Year on April 13 and 14.
Bond markets were also quiet with few maturities being quoted, dealers said.
Bonds maturing on 15.12.2022 were quoted at 5.98/6.08 percent from 5.98/05 on Monday.
Bonds maturing on 15.11.2023 were quoted 6.40/55 percnet unchanged from 6.40./55 Monday.
Bonds maturing on 15.12.2024 were quoted at 6.75/90 down from 6.80/90 Monday.
The market has not reacted much to the announcement of a China Development Bank loan of 500 million dollars, dealer said, but sovereign yeilds have fallen. (Colombo/Apr15/2021)
