Sri Lanka rupee quoted at 197.00/197.50 in one-week forwards
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s rupee quoted steady at 197.00/197.50 levels to the US dollar in the one-week forwards market on Tuesday while bond yields remained unchanged, dealers said.
The rupee last closed in the one- week forward market at 197.50/198.00 to the dollar on Monday.
In the secondary market bond yields unchanged while the overall market witnesses dull activity, dealers said.
Dealers said the market is dull ahead of the auctions.
Sri Lanka’s debt office is selling bills and bonds in back-to-back auctions.
The debt office is selling 45 billion rupees bills in a weekly auction to be held tomorrow and on Wednesday another 65 billion rupees is to be sold in bonds auction.
A bond maturing on 15.12.2022 quoted flat at 5.75/83 per cent on Tuesday from Monday’s end.
A bond maturing on 15.11.2023 quoted flat at 6.20/30 per cent on Tuesday from Monday’s end.
A bond maturing on 01.12.2024 was quoted at 6.62/70 per cent, down from 6.65/70 per cent at Monday’s end.
A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 was quoted flat at 6.75/90 per cent on Tuesday.
A bond maturing on 15.02.2026 was quoted at 7.00/15 per cent on Tuesday, down from 7.05/15 per cent at the previous day’s end.
A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 was quoted at 7.40/50 per cent on Tuesday, steady from 7.40/48 per cent at the previous day’s close.
A bond maturing on 15.05.2030 was quoted flat at 8.15/50 per cent on Tuesday from the previous day’s end. (Colombo/March 08/2021)
