Sri Lanka rupee quoted firmer, gilt yields up
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka rupee quoted stronger at 184.90/40 to the US dollar in the spot market on Monday while gilt yields slightly up in active market trade, dealers said.
The rupee closed at 185.50/80 to the US dollar on Friday.
In the secondary securities market, bond yields up in act market trade on selling pressure, dealers said.
A 2-year bond maturing on 15.12.2022 was quoted at 5.85/90 per cent on Monday, up from 5.78/85 per cent at Friday’s closing.
A bond maturing on 15.01.2023 was quoted at 5.90/6.00 per cent, up from 5.85/95 per cent from the previous day’s end.
A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 was quoted at 6.45/50 per cent on Monday, up from 6.40/43 per cent on Friday’s end.
A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 was quoted at 6.50/65 per cent, up from 6.45/55 per cent.
A bond maturing on 01.02.2026 was quoted at 6.75/85 per cent, gaining from 6.70/80 per cent at the last closing.
A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 was quoted at 7.15/20 per cent, up from 7.07/15 per cent on Friday’s end.
A bond maturing on 15.07.2028 was quoted flat at 7.20/30 per cent from the previous day’s end.
