Sri Lanka rupee quoted firmer in one-month forwards, gilt yields steady

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka rupee quoted firmer in one-month forward at 185.50/30 to the US dollar on Tuesday while yields remained steady in active market trade, dealers said.

The rupee closed at 186.60/85 to the US dollar on Monday against the US dollar.

In the secondary securities market, bond yields remained unchanged in active market trade, dealers said.

A 2-year bond maturing on 15.12.2022 was quoted at 6.65/72 per cent on Tuesday, steady from 5.65/75 per cent at Monday’s closing.

A bond maturing on 15.01.2023 was quoted at 5.70/77 per cent, steady from 5.70/75 per cent at Monday’s end.

A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 was quoted at 6.40/43 per cent, up from 6.37/44 per cent at Monday’s closing.

A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 was quoted flat at 6.50/60 per cent.

A bond maturing on 01.02.2026 was quoted at 6.65/75 per cent, steady from 6.65/73 per cent at the previous day’s end.

A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 was quoted flat at 7.05/15 per cent.

A bond maturing on 01.07.2028 was quoted flat at 7.20/25 per cent.
