ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka rupee quoted flat at 184.30/40 to the US dollar on Tuesday while bond yields steady in the overall market, dealers said.
The rupee closed at 184.30/40 against the greenback on Monday.
In the money market, overnight liquidity was 175.68 billion rupees on Monday, marginally up from 173.61 billion rupees at Friday.
In the secondary securities market, bond yields steady while the overall the market was dull, dealers said.
A 2-year bond maturing on 15.12.2022 was quoted unchanged at 5.52/57 per cent on Tuesday from Monday’s closing.
A bond maturing on 15.01.2023 was quoted flat at 5.53/60 per cent on Tuesday.
A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 was quoted at 6.02/15 per cent, steady from 6.02/08 per cent at the previous closing.
A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 was quoted flat at 6.28/33 per cent from its last closing.
A bond maturing on 01.02.2026 was quoted at 6.50/53 per cent, steady from 6.50/55 per cent.
A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 remained unchanged at 6.82/87 per cent on Tuesday from the previous day’s end.
A bond maturing on 01.07.2028 was quoted at 7.06/10 per cent on Tuesday, steady from 7.05/10 per cent at the previous day’s end.
A 10-year bond maturing on 15.05.2030 was quoted at 7.32/40 per cent, up from 7.30/40 per cent at the previous day’s end. (Colombo/Oct20/2020)
