Sri Lanka rupee quoted sightly weaker, gilt yields down

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka rupee quoted slightly weak at 184.20/27 to the US dollar on Tuesday while bond eased, dealers said.

The rupee closed at 184.15/25 against the greenback on Monday.

In the money market, overnight liquidity was 181.76 billion rupees on Monday, down from 185.47 billion rupees at Friday.

In the secondary securities market, bond yields came down while the overall market was active, dealers said.

A 2-year bond maturing on 15.12.2022 was quoted at 5.55/60 per cent on Tuesday, down from 5.58/62 per cent at Monday’s closing.

A bond maturing on 15.01.2023 was quoted at 5.58/62 per cent, falling from 5.62/65 per cent at the last closing.

A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 was quoted at 6.07/12 per cent, down from 6.12/25 per cent.

A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 was quoted at 6.30/40 per cent, falling from 6.40/45 per cent from its last closing.

A bond maturing on 01.02.2026 was quoted at 6.54/60 per cent, down from 6.60/65 per cent at the previous day’s end.

A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 was quoted at 6.85/90 per cent, down from 6.90/95 per cent.





A bond maturing on 01.07.2028 was quoted at 7.05/15 per cent, down from 7.10/18 per cent at the previous day’s end.

A 10-year bond maturing on 15.05.2030 was quoted at 7.30/40 per cent, down from 7.35/55 per cent at the previous day’s end.
