Sri Lanka rupee quoted slightly firmer in spot next, gilt yields flat

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka rupee was quoted marginally stronger at 188.00/50 to the US dollar on Friday in the spot-next market while gilt yields remained unchanged in dull market trade, dealers said.

The rupee was quoted at 188.50/189 to the US dollar on Thursday against the US dollar.

In the secondary securities market, bond yields remained unchanged in dull market trade, dealers said.

Dealers said the market was dried up with thin volumes.

A 2-year bond maturing on 15.12.2022 was quoted at 5.70/77 per cent on Friday, steady from 5.70/75 per cent at Thursday’s closing.

A bond maturing on 15.01.2023 was quoted at 5.73/80 per cent, down from 5.74/78 per cent at Thursday’s closing.

A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 was quoted 6.40/50 per cent on Friday, up from 6.42/45 per cent.

A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 was quoted at 6.55/75 per cent on Friday, up from 6.50/60 per cent at Thursday’s end.

A bond maturing on 01.02.2026 was quoted at 6.75/85 per cent, up from 6.73/83 per cent at the previous day’s end.

A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 was quoted at 7.16/26 per cent, up from 7.15/20 per cent at yesterday’s closing.

A bond maturing on 01.07.2028 was quoted at 7.25/35 per cent, up from 7.23/30 per cent at the previous day’s end.

A 10-year bond maturing on 15.05.2030 was quoted at 7.75/90 per cent on Friday, steady from 7.75/95 per cent at the previous day’s closing. (Colombo/Dec18/2020)
