Sri Lanka rupee quoted stronger, bond yields edge up
ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka rupee was quoted stronger Friday at 186.10/30 while bond yields edged up, dealers said.
The rupee closed at 186.30/35 to the greenback on Thursday.
Central Bank issued the average rates for the following currencies quoted by commercial banks in Colombo for Telegraphic Transfers (TT) on May 28.
In the secondary government securities market, bond yields edged up in moderate trade on Friday, dealers said.
Dealers also said that liquidity was mainly centered on 2023 maturities.
A bond maturing on 10.08.2021 was quoted at 6.95/10 percent on Friday, up from 6.90/7.05 percent on Thursday’s closing.
A 2-year bond maturing on 01.10.2022 was quoted at 7.45/50 percent, up from 7.40/48 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.01.2023 was quoted at 7.82/87 percent, up from 7.78/85 percent on Thursday.
A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 was quoted at 8.42/47 percent on Friday, up from 8.40/45 percent at Thursday’s end.
A bond maturing on 15.10.2027 was quoted at 8.90/92 percent on Thursday, up from 8.82/88 percent on yesterday‘s close.
