Sri Lanka rupee quoted weaker, gilt yields unchanged

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka rupee was quoted at 186.20/50 to the US dollar in the one-month-forwards on Wenesday while gilt yields remained unchanged in the overall market, dealers said.

The rupee closed at 186.00/30 in the spot next to the US dollar on Monday.

In the secondary securities market, bond yields remained unchanged with dull market activity.

A 2-year bond maturing on 15.12.2022 was quoted at 5.78/82 per cent on Wednesday, up from 5.75/82 per cent at Tuesday’s closing.

A bond maturing on 15.01.2023 was quoted at 5.80/85 per cent, steady from 5.80/88 per cent at Tuesday’s end.

A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 was quoted at 6.45/52 per cent, steady from 6.45/55 per cent at the previous day’s end.

A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 was not quoted yet but last closed at 6.55/65 per cent on Tuesday.

A bond maturing on 01.02.2026 was quoted at 6.70/85 per cent, down from 6.75/83 per cent at the last closing.

A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 was quoted at 7.10/20 per cent, down from 7.13/23 per cent at the previous day’s end.

A bond maturing on 15.07.2028 lasr closed at 7.25/40 per cent on Tuesday.
