Sri Lanka rupee quoted weaker in spot next, gilt yields unchanged

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka rupee was quoted weaker at 188.00/50 to the US dollar on Monday in the spot-next market while gilt yields remained unchanged in dull market trade, dealers said.

The rupee was quoted at 187.80/188.50 to the US dollar on Friday against the US dollar.

In the secondary securities market, bond yields remained unchanged in dull market trade, dealers said.

Yields were seen to be threading slightly lower

A 2-year bond maturing on 15.12.2022 was quoted at 5.67/75 per cent on Monday, down from 5.70/75 per cent at Friday’s closing.

A bond maturing on 15.01.2023 was quoted at 5.70/77 per cent on Monday, down from 5.73/78 per cent at Friday’s closing.

A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 was quoted flat at 6.42/45 per cent from Friday’s end.

A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 was quoted flat at 6.50/60 per cent from Friday’s end.

A bond maturing on 01.02.2026 was quoted flat 6.72/80 per cent on Monday, from 6.73/83 per cent at the previous day’s end.

A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 was quoted at 7.10/20 per cent, down from 7.15/20 per cent at Friday’s closing.

A bond maturing on 01.07.2028 was quoted at 7.22/28 per cent, slight down from 7.23/30 per cent at the previous day’s end.

A 10-year bond maturing on 15.05.2030 was quoted at 7.78/83 per cent, up from 7.75/90 per cent from Friday’s closing. (Colombo/Dec21/2020)
