Sri Lanka rupee quoted wider at 193.50/195.50 levels in the spot next market

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s rupee quoted wider at 193.50/195.50 levels to the US dollar in the spot next market on Thursday while bond yields remained unchanged, dealers said.

The rupee last closed in the spot market at 194.50/195.00 to the dollar on Wednesday.

In the secondary market bond yields unchanged in a dull market trade, dealers said.

On Wednesday Sri Lanka’s debt office offered 125 billion rupees in a bond auction to be held tomorrow.

The bond auction was undersubscribed for the second week, only 73 per cent or 90.9 billion rupees.

A bond maturing on 15.12.2022 was quoted at 5.80/90 per cent on Thursday, up from 5.75/85 per cent at Wednesday’s end.

A bond maturing on 01.10.2023 last closed at 6.20/30 per cent on Wednesday.

A bond maturing on 01.12.2024 was quoted at 6.70/85 per cent on Thursday, down from 6.73/83 per cent at Wednesday’s end.

A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 last closed at 6.80/7.00 per cent on Wednesday.

A bond maturing on 15.01.2026 was quoted flat at 7.05/15 per cent on Thursday.

A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 was last closed at 7.20/40 per cent on Wednesday.
