Sri Lanka rupee slightly firmer at open, bond yields flat

ECONOMYEXT – Sri Lanka rupee was quoted slightly firmer at 185.72/82 to US dollar in the spot market on Wednesday while bond yields were flat, dealers said.

Rupee closed at 185.73/78 to the greenback on Tuesday.

In the secondary government securities market, gilt yields were flat in active market trade, dealers said.

A 2-year bond maturing on 15.12.2022 was quoted at 5.65/75 percent on Wednesday unchanged from 5.65/72 percent at Tuesday’s close.

A bond maturing on 15.01.2023 was quoted at 5.67/75 percent easing from 5.68/75 percent at Tuesday’s close.

A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 was quoted at 6.20/28 percent unchanged from Tuesday’s closing at 6.20/27 percent.

A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 was quoted at 6.42/50 percent on Wednesday, unchanged from 6.42/50 percent at yesterday’s closing.

A bond maturing on 01.02.2026 was quoted at 6.52/58 percent, unchanged from 6.52/57 from the previous close.

A bond maturing on 15.10.2027 was quoted at 6.90/7.00 percent, unchanged 6.90/7.00 percent from Tuesday’s end.

A 10-year bond maturing on 15.05.2030 was quoted at 7.28/35 percent, up from 7.25/35 percent on Tuesday’s closing.
