Sri Lanka rupee stronger at open, bond yields pick up marginally
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka rupee was quoted stronger at 185.85/186.00 against the US dollar on Friday while bond yields were marginally up, dealers said.
Rupee ended on Thursday at 185.95/10 rupees against the US dollar.
In the secondary government securities markets, bond yields were marginally up in moderate trade, dealers said.
A 2-year bond maturing on 15.12.2022 was quoted at 5.55/60 percent on Friday, up from 5.53/55 per cent at Thursday’s closing.
A bond maturing on 15.01.2023 was quoted at 5.58/65 percent, up from 5.57/63 per cent at the previous closing.
A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 was quoted at 6.11/15 percent, down from 6.12/15 per cent at Thursday’s closing.
A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 was quoted at 6.37/45 percent, unchanged from 6.37/40 per cent at the previous day’s closing.
A bond maturing on 01.02.2026 was quoted at 6.55/58 per cent up from 6.54/57 in the previous close.
A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 was quoted flat at 6.97/7.00 percent, up from 6.95/7.00 per cent.
A 10-year bond maturing on 15.05.2030 was quoted at flat at 7.30/40 per cent from previous day’s closing. (Colombo/Aug28/2020)
