Sri Lanka rupee weaker, bond yields down
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka rupee was quoted weaker at 184.30/40 against the US dollar on Tuesday while bond yields were down at market close, dealers said.
The rupee closed at 183.75/90to the greenback on Monday.
In the secondary government securities markets, bond yields were down marginally centered on short tenures in active trade, dealers said.
A 2-year bond maturing on 15.12.2022 closed at 5.50/55 percent on Tuesday, down from 5.58/63 percent Monday.
A bond maturing on 15.01.2023 closed at 5.50/60 percent, down from 5.60/65 percent Monday.
A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 closed at 6.05/10 percent on Tuesday, up from Monday’s closing at 6.13/18 percent.
A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 closed at 6.32/38 percent on Tuesday, down from 6.35/40 percent at the previous day’s closing.
A bond maturing on 01.02.2026 closed at 6.48/55 percent, down from 6.50/55 percent at the previous close.
A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 closed at 6.95/7.00 percent, down from 6.98/7.05 percent Monday.
A 10-year bond maturing on 15.05.2030 closed at 7.25/35 percent, unchanged from 7.25/35 percent at the previous day’s closing. (Colombo/Aug18/2020)
